# c-ray — build apps by chatting

c-ray turns a conversation into a working web app. You describe what you want in plain language; c-ray designs it, writes the code, and puts it live on its own URL while you watch — your own, real, working web app. Drafts stay private until you publish.

## How it works

1. **Describe it** — a tool, a tracker, a site for your club — the way you'd explain it to a person. No forms, no templates, no code.
2. **Watch it take shape**: c-ray plans the work, writes the code, and shows a live preview while it builds. Ask for changes at any time.
3. **Use it immediately** — every app runs on its own address from the first build, on any device.
4. **Publish when you're ready.** Share the link, invite people, or connect your own domain. Until then it stays private to you.

## What you can build

Anything you can describe. For example: a site for your club (events, sign-ups, a member list), a pantry app that suggests recipes from what you have at home, a booking page for a studio or classes, an inventory tracker for a small shop, an expense splitter for a flat or a trip, a catalog for your collection.

Every app comes with:

- A complete app — frontend, backend, and data storage — not a static page.
- Hosting included: HTTPS on its own subdomain, nothing to set up.
- Privacy by default; you decide what's shared, and when.
- Custom domains for published apps.

## Pricing

c-ray is free until further notice — there is nothing to pay and no payment details to enter.

The planned pricing, once it takes effect: **~5€/month per app**, plus charges for active AI work on your app (building and changing it in conversation), depending on the model you choose. When pricing is introduced, existing apps stay free with at least one month's advance notice, and conversations stay free until announced otherwise.

## FAQ

- **Do I need to know how to code?** No. You describe what you want in plain language and c-ray does the technical work. You can watch the code being written if you're curious, but you never have to touch it.
- **Is it a real app, or a mockup?** Real. Every app has a frontend, a backend, and data storage, and runs on its own HTTPS address from the first build.
- **Who can see my app?** Only you, until you publish. When you publish, you choose whether the app is open to everyone or only to people you invite.
- **Can I use my own domain?** Yes. Published apps can be connected to a domain you own; c-ray takes care of the certificate.

## Who runs c-ray

c-ray is currently a private project run by an individual — it is not backed by a company today. Legal details (German): https://c-ray.ai/impressum

## Documentation

User documentation is at https://c-ray.ai/docs (markdown: https://c-ray.ai/docs.md).

## Contact

Questions or problems reach a person via the form at https://c-ray.ai/contact. There is no
markdown twin of that page: it is a form, and an agent has nothing to submit through it.

## Start

Open https://c-ray.ai/ and describe the app you want — c-ray starts building it right away, free and without an account. Sign up when you want to keep it, publish it, or put it on your own address. Everything happens in the browser, nothing to install.
